How to Edit PDF Document Templates
This article is for those who need to know how to edit PDF document templates in StepShot Guides and how to save screenshot as PDF in order to convert screenshot to PDF instruction manual template.
Switch to the Document Templates View (1).
Then, choose the necessary editable PDF template, hover over it and press the Edit Template button (2).
You will see this message. Hit OK to be redirected to the PDF Template Editor.
Press on any element to have an editing panel for this particular element appear (1).
You can drag the element within the page of the editable PDF instruction manual template to change its position, or you can remove it (2).
3 – Background color
4 – Border Color
5 – Select font and its size
6 – Choose the font color, select whether you want your text on PDF screenshot to be bold/italic/underlined
7 – Alignment
8 – Border width
9 – Bring element back or front
10 – Add new elements to the page:
You can also add a text box, rectangle, logo/image from your computer.
You can enable lines to make sure your elements are positioned in a proper way on the editable PDF screenshot based template.
Switch to Table of Contents
Choose the element and bring an editing panel (the same as on the Cover page).
Additional items on the editing panel:
1 – Choose whether you want to enumerate items in your Table of Contents
2 – Select padding width (distance between this element and other elements)
Double-click on the background to have the possibility to edit it and add new elements.
Double-click on the step content to quit the background editing mode.

And choose Regular page layout (2).
All the rest works the same in this window:
– Choose the element to edit it.

You can enable rulers to change page margins (1).
Once you’re done editing the template, press Save (2).
Name your template and save it to the Library.
